• Quick Sale

Hogia has made a new contribution to the BOOKIT family, a ticketing application, or more accurately said: a Quick Sale application. It is a separate user interface optimized for quick handling and customer service in the part of the process most often seen as a bottle-neck, the actual ticket sale in the port.

The application is mainly targeted at customers that are operating ferry routes with a high turnover of passengers and/or vehicles, short turn-around times in the ports and where the majority of passengers do not have a reservation prior to travelling.

Combining this application with an online web booking and ticket sales application as well as an embarkation application a ferry company can continue having a very quick and efficient sales process for new customers turning up directly for a sailing, and at the same time, in the same application handle pre-paid and booked customers.

We have closely been following both existing customers’ and other ferry companies’ processes when developing the quick sale application. It is an application to be used in conjunction with a touch screen, quite similar to the POS systems of restaurants and supermarkets. The idea is very much similar also, the clerk should be able to very rapidly insert data to the system and hence serve the customer quickly and efficiently. “One burger and a soda” or “Two adults, one child and a standard car, one day return ticket” – just one or a few clicks on the configurable touch-screen will take care of the data processing and the complete sales should be over within a few seconds.
